AssetIntel team is continuously validating the new FHWA transition tool. We have already found some errors with the JSON output. This section will compile those discrepancies and report them to FHWA. All agencies should be aware of these discrepancies before they use the data for production.

| B.LR.05 | Inventory Load Rating Factor | Primary | If Item 66 Inventory Rating = 0, it should not matter what Item 65 Method Used to Determine Inventory Rating value is. The transition value for B.LR.05 Inventory Load Rating Factor should always be 0 whether it is direct transition, divide by 32.4, or divide by 32.67. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.LR.06 | Operating Load Rating Factor | Primary | When Item 64 Operating Rating = 0, it should not matter what Item 63 Method Used to Determine Operating Rating value is. The transition value for B.LR.06 Inventory Load Rating Factor should always be 0 whether it is direct transition, divide by 32.4, or divide by 32.67. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.AP.01 | Approach Roadway Alignment | Primary | When Item 72 Approach Roadway Alignment = 4, the transition value for B.AP.01 should be “P” per the above table. The FHWA tool is transitioning this case as no value. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.AP.04 | Scour Plan of Action | Primary | FHWA is transitioning values when no crosswalk is provided. | 06/08/2023 | View Details |
| B.AP.04 | Scour Plan of Action | Primary | The FHWA tool is converting any value for Item 113 Scour Critical Bridges to “Y-T”, which is not consistent with the transition notes. | 06-15-2023 | View Details |
| B.F.01 | Feature Type | Features | When Item 42B Type of Service Under Bridge = 4 (Highway - Railroad) or 8 (Highway - Waterway - Railroad) for any under record, the railroad feature below bridge is not created. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.F.01 | Feature Type | Features | The FHWA tool only transitions features below bridge based on Item 42B Type of Service Under Bridge from the under records. This logic is flawed because waterway or railroad is generally not collected as an under record per the old coding guide. Majority of bridges has a waterway underneath with no under routes, which the FHWA tool will not create a waterway feature for. For example, Arkansas has 12,951 bridges in the inventory, and over 11,000 of them has waterway under the bridge. Over 84% of the inventory would not have waterway feature transitioned. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.01 | Functional Classification | Features | The FHWA tool is not transitioning B.H.01 for any highway features below bridge. The JSON output does not contain any B.H.01 values for H02..H03…etc. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.02 | Urban Code | Features | The FHWA tool is not transitioning B.H.02 for any highway features below bridge. The JSON output does not contain any B.H.02 values for H02..H03…etc. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.02 | Urban Code | Features | The translator is transitioning BH02 to "T-U" for Railroad and Pathway Features (ie P01, R01) that carried on the bridge. This is incorrect. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.07 | LRS Mile Point | Features | The FHWA tool is transitioning B.H.07 using meter to feet instead of using kilometer to mile conversion. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.12 | Highway Maximum Usable Vertical Clearance | Features | When Item 10 = 30 meters or greater, the FHWA tool is direct transitioning the value from meter to feet instead of using 99.9. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.13 | Highway Minimum Vertical Clearance | Features | When Item 53 or 54B = 30 meters or greater, the FHWA tool is direct transitioning the value from meter to feet instead of using 99.9. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.14 | Highway Minimum Horizontal Clearance, Left | Features | When Item 56 = 30 meters or greater, the FHWA tool is direct transitioning the value from meter to feet instead of using 99.9. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.15 | Highway Minimum Horizontal Clearance, Right | Features | When Item 55B = 30 meters or greater, the FHWA tool is direct transitioning the value from meter to feet instead of using 99.9. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.16 | Highway Maximum Usable Surface Width | Features | When Item 47 = 30 meters or greater, the FHWA tool is direct transitioning the value from meter to feet instead of using 99.9. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.17 | Bypass Detour Length | Features | When Item 19 = 199, the FHWA tool is not converting the value to 999. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.H.17 | Bypass Detour Length | Features | The FHWA tool is not transitioning B.H.17 for any highway features below bridge. The JSON output does not contain any B.H.17 values for H02..H03…etc. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.SP.01 | Span Configuration Designation | Span Sets | When Item 43B = 19, Item 44A = 0, and Item 44B = not 0 (ie 44A/B = 019), the FHWA tool only creates C01 instead of both C01 and C02. When Item 43B = any other value, Item 44A = 0, and Item 44B = not 0 (ie 44A/B = 001), the FHWA tool only creates M01 instead of both M01 and A01. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
| B.SP.05 | Span Continuity | Span Sets | The FHWA translator is ignoring the 43B/44B = 7 condition from the above table. The JSON output does not contain B.SP.05 = 6 for any frame type bridges. | 07-05-2023 | View Details |
If Item 66 Inventory Rating = 0, it should not matter what Item 65 Method Used to Determine Inventory Rating value is. The transition value for B.LR.05 Inventory Load Rating Factor should always be 0 whether it is direct transition, divide by 32.4, or divide by 32.67.
When Item 65 = 6, 7, 8, D, E, F, do the following: For submittal file, direct transition Item 66. For transition of legacy data, divide Item 66 by 32.4. If Item 65 has a value other than 6, 7, 8, D, E, or F, divide Item 66 by 32.67.
